Lawang Salapan
Lawang Salapan is a symbol of Pakuan Pajajaran's philosophy, namely compassion, pick-up, choose care. At the top of Tepas Salapan Lawang Dasakreta (TSLD) is a Sundanese motto which reads Di Nu Kiwari Ngancik Nu Bihari Seja Ayeuna Sampeureun Jaga, which means that everything in the present is an heirloom from the past, and today's efforts are for the future, or what we enjoy today is the legacy of our predecessors, and what we enjoy today will be passed on to future generations. The landmark, which was inaugurated at the end of 2016, was inspired by one of the historical buildings in the Bogor Botanical Gardens, namely the Lady Raffles Monument which was built by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, Governor General of the Dutch East Indies in 1811-1816. TSLD itself is a building that has terms of meaning, so it is hoped that it can sustain Bogor City as a Heritage City. TSLD was built with the design of ten pillars that symbolize Dasakreta, a concept enshrined in the ancient Pakuan Pajajaran manuscript (Dasa: ten). Dasakreta reminds every human being of ten things that must be kept clean physically and spiritually, namely ears, eyes, skin, tongue, nose, mouth, hands, feet, anus, and genitals. The existence of these ten poles results in nine doors (salapan lawang). It also represents the nine points found on the human body, as well as connecting the parts of the human body to the universe.
